Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
Our incredible native bird and plant life continues to be a major theme running through my work.
This vibrant watercolour and acrylic painting features a Wattlebird perched on a Peppercorn tree in beautiful blue/green and grey hues with accents of metallic copper and silvery blue paint.
I am particularly interested in representing the back yard birds and plants common to my inner city neighbourhood in Sydney's Inner West. My works on paper are influenced by Ukiyo-e prints and often find their way back to a Japanese aesthetic. I work with Chinese Calligraphy Brushes to achieve varied line weights and movement with my brush strokes.
