Basketball has been a huge part of my life since I was 9 years old. I have loyally followed my local team, the Townsville Crocodiles since 1995 and grew up with the 90's Michael Jordan era Chicago Bulls. I played club basketball locally from 9 years old for 27 years. This artwork is both a reminder of what I love - the simplicity of shooting around or competing with friends in a game - and a bit of a tribute in the beautiful twilight of the scene. This year I tore my ACL playing basketball and at 36, it may well spell the end of my playing days. Pair that with my hometown NBL team (the Crocs) folding a few yeaers ago, and there is a lot of basketball I miss right now! In the end though, there will always be a hoop somewhere, a game on TV, and a way to get some basketball into my system. Hopefully this artwork serves as another way to have this great game around you, in the way it reminds me of why I love it so much!
