Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

Madame Cherrier lived at the beginning of the 20th century in Lorraine, France. This finely worked embroidery was hers. In this watercolour, I arranged it on a table set with a bowl of fresh cream cheese covered with a beaded doily, & limes.. I loved painting the contrasting textures of the soft folds of linen & the smooth, shiny surfaces of the ceramics.
