Artwork Description

A luminous sky unfurls over an endless expanse of water, where sea and sand converge into a quiet invitation toward the unknown. The painting draws the eye along a narrow path of dune and grass, stretching forward as if guiding the viewer into light itself. Shifting hues of turquoise, indigo, and rose whisper of tide and sky in constant dialogue, their boundaries dissolving in soft radiance.

There is both solitude and promise here—an evocation of journey, of standing on the threshold between land and sea, present and infinite. The brushwork breathes movement into sand and cloud, as though the earth itself exhales beneath the wide horizon. In this meeting of air, water, and light, the painting becomes a meditation on direction, longing, and the serenity found in transition.

Artist Bio

Sandra Michele Knight is a traditionally trained Australian artist whose practice is shaped by a lifelong connection to nature.
From an early age she was drawn to creative expression—first through drawing, and later through painting, which became her truest language for exploring memory, emotion, and place.

Her canvases are layered with color, texture, and gesture, reflecting both inner landscapes and the natural world around her. Each work becomes a meditation on presence—spaces of stillness and movement, resilience and vulnerability—that invite viewers into their own reflections.

Sandra's work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions, with her paintings finding homes in private collections nationally and internationally. She has been a finalist in art prizes and has received recognition for the depth and strength of her work. Attending workshops with Highly Acclaimed tutors as Max Wilks, Lee Machelak, Peter Smales (Melbourne Twenty Painters), art mentor Carol Boothman and many others have helped shape her learning processes.

For Sandra, painting is more than image-making—it is the creative freedom and opportunity to explore many materials and subject choices.
