Line, colour and emotion are the ways I express myself. Itโs not about what I draw, itโs about how I relate to it and find meaning in its presence. Iโm fascinated by the play of light and dark and how they coexist in everything. This idea permeates through my drawings.
I live in Regional Victoria and with two cats in tow, my drawings often centre around them. I also take inspiration from the simple, quirky things in life, the quirkier the better. A tea kettle is not just a tea kettle but how you relate to it and place meaning beyond what it is.
Drawing has always felt natural to me; I find it simple and meditative. I mostly draw with charcoal and pens, I love the boldness and immediacy of both mediums.
