Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This painting explores some of the big issues we face with farming, agriculture and the environment. I wanted to paint a landscape that highlights the direct negative impact we have on our lands and it’s inhabitants. It explores the dark side of human nature and how we see things as products, commodities and assets. We look at things with an opportunistic eye in terms of how many dollars can we get from it and how or what benefit can we get from it and even from each other. I listened to ‘Right in Two’ by TOOL a lot whilst painting this work and that was the exact headspace I was in.
