Artwork Description

Professional acrylic and oil brush and pallet knife painting. The forest glows in winter as giant eucalypts reach skywards, soaking up the light and seeking warmth. This contemporary, abstract impressionist painting captures a colourful and abundant Australian forest landscape. The colour palette is cool and contemporary, with deep and pale blues, contrasted with warm ochre and rich golden brown. Frosty ferns and abstracted foliage sit at the feet of the forest trees adding interesting details that draw the viewer into a sense of ‘being there’. At the same time, this cool palette and substantial trees bring a calm sense of nature’s beauty into the room.

Combining multiple layers of acrylics and oils and continuing around all sides, this large painting will bring a striking focal point into any setting. Ready to hang, discreetly signed on the front and varnished for protection, it comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity. It is painted on a quality, deep edged canvas.

NB: Hung images are for illustrative purposes, so please check dimensions for accurate sizing in your space.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
