2020 has been a year of disruption, uncertainty and fear. The pandemic has intersected with the Black Lives Matter movement as well as with a turbulent American election. In Melbourne we are coming out of a long period of isolation and lockdown, each day wondering what the next will bring. As the pandemic abates in our city we must find our new normal - our so-called "Covid normal." More than anything I hope it will allow us to be closer to one another, to value each other's differences and to continue to be kind.
