Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed with a certificate of authenticity.

Figurative artwork depicting 2 women - a couple or perhaps a mother and child - in an emotive scene. Are they are saying good bye? A bird has escaped from its cage...remnants of the wire are seen throughout the painting. The bird is a metaphor for freedome. I was thinking about what it is to be free, about the holding on and the letting go that we must be able to do in the best relationships, the ones that will survive.

abstracted seated nude womanbird like figures in blue green and yellowBold orange and blues set against a black background. Shapes define the outline of small and larger boats. They are motionless at dock. A central female form glances back over her shoulder. She sees another version of herself, receding into the distance. Meanwhile to the other side, there's a third figure...less well defined, but bathed in a yellow glow. She seems to be moving in the opposite direction. More shadowy figures play in the background...they represent actions and intentions.
