This portrait represents Galileo Galilei with one of his astronomical diagrams. I painted this when thinking about the interaction between the church and science. The underpainting was done in acrylic and oil paint has been used to enhance the vivid colours. An image transfer is also incorporated to depict the scientific diagram.
