Releasing fear. Apart from here on the canvas, the only place I do that well is at the coast. Particularly on an overcast day when storms threaten. Somehow it calms me. Somehow in the quiet alone time I can scream at the world - whether internally or externally - and it releases the fear deep within.
In doing so, hope returns. I can anticipate the storm passing, darkness fading and light returning. Here, then, when I've vented my anger and frustration and sent my screams skyward, my faith is restored.
This emotive and expressive seascape is reminiscent of that process. Despite it's tempest textures and moody aesthetic, it's somehow calming for me. Evoking deep exhale and time to be still as fear is swept away, and strength and faith return to move me forward.
It has been created with palette knives on 12 oz stretched cotton canvas and has been framed in a solid oak timber frame. It is satin varnished and comes with a COA.
Thank you for stopping to view "Releasing Fear (Restoring Faith)". I hope it allows you to do that too.
Please note: This frame has a very small dent in the Tas Oak timber in the top edge, right corner, at the back of the frame. It can not be seen once hung on a wall and is in no way structural, but as such, the price for this artwork has been reduced from a usual price for this size of $990, to the listed price of $920. Feel free to message for a photo if you'd prefer, before purchasing, to be assured.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space.
