The Human Totem Pole

Most of my vintage materials end up as fodder for collage, but there was a very small, black and white photo from the 1940s that caught my attention. This family day at the beach deserved to be immortalised in paint and in colour - it was just too gorgeous for words. Edges painted white.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to cut back in order to explore other things that pique my interest. I will continue to post occasional new works here, however with the increased costs of commission, materials etc, my more affordable works unfortunately aren't financially worth listing here on Bluethumb. For similar reasons, I am no longer accepting commissions. My apologies.
