Have you ever been to Kiama beach? I went late last year and it was incredibly special by virtue of being the very first time I saw seagulls in such close quarters! Now this may not seem extraordinary to most people but I tend to treasure such experiences a great deal! I found them to be very entertaining. Unlike most birds that shy away from humans, these seagulls seemed unafraid to venture as close to us as possible in the hopes of acquiring a snack! They even teamed up to harass onlookers! It made us all chuckle and marvel at nature and its many creatures. I also happened to find their calls to one another very soothing. It is a sound I will forever associate with the sea! This painting represents an experience, an interesting memory even if it looks like a regular beach painting on the surface of it.
