This artwork is on a custom made canvas and framed in raw Tasmanian oak.
Part of a bigger series, I'm exploring the endless possiblities with the same colours. This is a very colourful piece with many layers of transparent fluid paint and the texture is built up with a variety of marks.
I tend to favour squares and rectangles and love playing with patterns in my work, making sure there is lots of interest with different marks but keeping a balance to keep the artwork from becoming overwhelming. Instead I aim for a painting where you can excitedly let your eyes roam over the canvas and keep discovering new things.

Finished with two coats of satin varnish for protection.
