The Balabalaa in the traditional language of our country Yuaawalaraay, means white butterfly but now has a more generic meaning across our peoples country for butterflies of all types.
This painting is about rejuvenation. It’s about emerging as something more, something bigger and more beautiful but still holding the understanding that our soul is the same. It’s about being in difficulty and popping out the other end understanding the deep value of personal growth.
My dreaming is centred around butterflies and flowers. Visual storytelling honours myself and my ancestors. Thank you.
