An ethereal abstract landscape.Inspired by Turner, Monet and twentieth-century expressionist works of the 1990s.The horrendous fires of several years ago prompted an emotional response in me that needed an outlet. The destruction was apocalyptic in scale and only an expressionist image could impart that.
This work shows the fire going down to the beach. The idea here is that we only see a flat landscape but we also see all the richness of that. This is a mash-up of the world on the scale of a human.
