This painting was created from plein air sketches on a beautiful summer day. I found a lovely vantage point in Killalea State Park, on the coast near Shellharbour NSW. Looking south across the lagoon, I sketched the composition, taking note of the striking colours that grabbed my attention. Upon returning to the studio, I worked quickly to capture the image before my impression faded. The painting has been framed in a bespoke handmade oak shadow box with a dark stain on the inside.
