Hello all =] thank you for taking the time to view my art
My name is Suzanne and i am excited to be a part of Blue thumb. I have spend a lot of time in the Sydney - Parramatta area and also some time in Queensland which i truly adore. I was born in Sydney Australia i am one of five children and my father was the world to me.
My two girls are the inspiration to all the art that i have created over the years they between them have seven children which also inspire me with their quirky mannerisms and innocent humor.
My painting the Balloon Buddy was crated through a thought that i had of traveling the world and in my travels randomly throwing little soft toys out of the hot air Balloon in the hope that a child would find it laying there and gratefully except what it has to offer holding it lose to their heart, it saddens me the idea that there are so many children in this world who go with out.
When i was young i also lived in New Guinea with my family and found the ruggedness of this once primeval culture to be alluring and exciting along with the beauty of the landscapes both land and sea breathtaking.
All of my life i have enjoyed and appreciated all forms of art. My art is often inspired by the great Salvador Dali he to me was the greatest of them all.
My paintings are usually depicted by a dream that i may have had or a feeling that someone has passed onto me.
What i want is to share my art with others in the hope that it will inspire them to follow perhaps the same path as the greats of the creative world such as Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gough , Monet, Kevin Best and more modern images like Ken Done just a few of my favorites but the list goes on lol.
I use a variety of mediums from oils, acrylics and water colors and studied at the Canberra School of arts which i enjoyed immensely. My recent additions are a bit comical but i feel have a really nice feel to them with their humble yet alluring content. They are almost cartoonish in look but i feel the colors are the true essence of the Australian landscape in which i am eternally grateful for being a part of this magical country.
I am planning to do a series of these comical characters and would love to hear from you regarding color preferences or perhaps a sport or hobby in which you would like to see come to life. I have listed all 3 in the series and would love to hear from you
I did enter the art prize this year which is so exciting and i wanted to congratulate all of the finalists some of the work that was entered are absolutely breathtaking.
The Lilly of the valley is one of my favorite pieces at the moment and i would love to hear any constructive feedback that you would like to offer.
I hope that you enjoy them as much as i have enjoyed creating them.
Thank you Kind regards Suzanne
