Inspired by the semi-abstract effect of rocks on morning walks at Bundeena
A section of rock pools & sculptured rocks at Bundeena inspired me to capture the amazing colours I was seeing. The overall rosiness of these rocks led me to undercoat the canvas with a vivid ‘musk stick’ pink. Using a palette knife for most of the painting & acrylic paints, I wanted to create a textured surface to show the crevices and cracks, which teemed with other little worlds. The little black & white ‘striped houses’ were already the perfect contrast to the rocks and needed no further embellishment.
