This contemporary and vibrant abstract painting is part of a series I absolutely loved creating. This particular artwork evokes the imagery of corals in the sea, with its soft blues and organic, colourful shapes exuding an underwater ambiance and an essence of aquatic oceanic life.
The artistic process involved multiple layers, and every step was a tranquil and almost meditative experience.
I begin by applying transparent fluid acrylic paint and ink, allowing them to travel organically across the canvas, creating captivating patterns and colour combinations. This process is repeated two or three times, resulting in a vivid interesting backdrop for further work.. I seal it with the binder and introduce more details: more ink "flowers" and diverse patterns using stencils (both organic shapes and florals) and airbrush gun. It reminds me of luscious garden where all sorts of colours coexist in harmony, or a vibrant coral reef. Next step would be to shape the bubbles. It's very exciting, as I start creating miniature pictures within the larger canvas. I select the patterns I want to keep, I leave some plain coloured no-pattern bubbles to create some breathings space and I add some things along the way. A few layers of white background and the painting comes to life :) I've enclosed a "work-in-progress" photo of a painting in this series, in case you are curious (note one of my kittens there supporting me :) )
It can be displayed both vertically and horizontally. This listing shows a vertical display, there is a separate one for horizontal. It's stretched and ready to hang as is, framing is optional. The edges are painted white to match the background. It's varnished and ready to be displayed for years to come.
