Water. Floating weightless in a blanket of water and let the ripples wash away your worries. I am obsessed with water. I grew up near the beach and I remember falling asleep lulled by the waves. In my career as an artist water has been somewhere present in my art, maybe hidden in a vase of flowers or in the explosion of drops of a dog shaking it off. I cannot swim, but I feel safe in water.

Flowers. I love my garden. It is always very generous and each season it rewards me with new shapes and new colours. Nature doesn’t compromise with its brightness and colours, so why should I. The richness of my garden floats in my painting with the bold textures and the intense colours.

Nudes. The beauty of the curves of the female body becomes part of the movement in the composition. All the elements combine with the figure in an eddy of water, flowers, colours and textures creating movement without turmoil. The bird eye view create interest in the prospective, like watching yourself in a daydream.

I love the way the colours move in and out of each other, like some environmental weave of threaded colour, that then represents the way the clouds and waves move.
Two people about to kiss The painting is about a lovers kiss and the passion of being in love. I called it Forbidden because the faces are hidden behind the flowers.I have often painted the Seaford pier. This sunset was during winter. The colours in the sky reflected in the water making the timber pier look cold in its purple and blue shadowed areas.
