This piece is inspired by the produce from my 90 year old father-in-law’s fig tree. Every season he packages up an abundance of figs, carefully placed on recycled, plastic supermarket trays and distributes them amongst family and friends. I wanted to give these figs a presentation makeover, styled on a white, ceramic platter and sitting on a crisp, white tablecloth to provide a contrast for the figs' wonderful array of textures and hues. I also aimed to create a warmth in the lighting to emulate the feel of a lazy afternoon of alfresco dining. The figs are generous in size as is my father-in-law’s love and generosity towards family and friends.
