Tonia's love of the ocean, it's moods and colours, and people having fun at the beach inspired her to paint this artwork. In particular, the bayside Mornington Peninsula beaches with their colourful bathing boxes. It shows a beautiful calm and sunny summer's day with colourful beach umbrellas and there's Wendy, Tonia's fictional person (Where's Wendy), who is in many of her paintings, has been added in her red bikini. The artwork is intended to give the viewer happy thoughts of summer and beautiful days at the beach and take them to this special place. The cool blues and turquoise greens are typical of many of Tonia's seascapes.
