No.11, from the series of fifteen diptych, triptych and poliptych paintings called ' Pandora's Box ' . Painted in Europe in July and August 2018 for my show in Rijeka, Croatia in early September. Mostly watercolours on paper and few acrylics on canvas. This painting is a polyptych of four 1 x 1 m stretched canvases assembled together into 2 x 2 m painting. Each individual canvas is 1 x 1 m in size. Paints used: Matisse Structure Acrylics.
Inspiration for the series and name 'Pandora ' was taken from the story of Pandora's Box in Greek mythology. Pandora was created as a punishment to the mankind although she was more a metaphor than a real person. The main purpose of the myth of Pandora was to answer the question of why evil exists in the world and it was catching the imagination of many artists for centuries.
