use & why?
I recycle everything from paints to my own paintings to enhance the maximum sculptural energy, whilst remaining confined within the paintings boundaries of a mostly two dimensional realm. Like many artists, I have a close connection to the process of painting, being constantly fascinated with the endless possibility it creates. I find re-claiming discarded paint a constant play of renewal and reward that transpires into something of sheer bliss.
Q3) what is your subject matter?
The subject matter follows the style of my artwork, in which they are both abstract. Paradoxically, my artistic intention is about representing the non-figurative, and connecting to the ‘unseen world’. My style willingly incorporates everything from nature’s expansive beauty where spirit is alive all around us, to unveiling the true nature of oneself. Can art be a totem, a mystical or shamanic journey? Yes! I believe the painting can have a deeper meaning that communicates something true about the nature of being alive.
Q4) what do you aim to achieve through your art?
My passion has always been about the ‘aura’ of creating an original work that has physical presence in its environment. There are over a thousand paintings of mine in Melbourne and across Australia that can be recognized by their distinctive textual style. Now I am at the stage in my career where I am exploring my most masterful art. It is a pleasure knowing my paintings are being viewed.
