I aimed to depicting the amasing dance of sun in the sky in my artwork called 'Traveling Sun.' I included many blue shades ranging from deep interiors of cerulean to light touches of turquoise. My painting shows white swirls moving across the canvas indicating the sun's changing position at particular point of time; visible as different brush strokes left behind as it moves within a given period.
This artwork is inviting you to start a visual journey that will allow you enjoy as you pass through the colours with different textures and also the sun will not only be seen but felt. It is in reference to the abstract expressionists who often made use of large gestures and intense emotions in their art. Looking at the layered blues in it, one may notice faint hints of Mark Rothko’s colour fields where each shade represents a diverse mood. And there could be a suggestion of Kandinsky’s winding shape.
