Artwork Description

This painting is about the social norm of being in debt. Quite often I hear when I am in shopping malls, people will be deliberating over the next purchase then one will say, "What the hell lets put it on the card." This painting is about Strange people in Strange places in love with Strange highly manufactured objects. This girl is about to blow the roof off her credit, she has her object which in this case is the control stick out of an F/18 fighter jet. The symbol in the middle is a god symbol and on the right the more $ you have the more your nose is up. I am harking back to the Dadaists and the use of found objects in their art, the badge on her shirt says PRADADA Prada a symbol of consumerism DADA a homage to the Dada art movement and Marcele Duchamp.
