A rainy afternoon in Covent Garden, just wandering around the markets and the neighbourhood. I passed this side street just after the rain had stopped and the bright light of a summer afternoon was shining off the wet cobblestones. I loved the quality of the light and the way that lady's excellent pink dress becomes an effortless focal point to the image. This painting has endless details in the background.
