After a long lockdown this artwork is a response to isolation in and from the community.Isolation can be physical, social, emotional, class or racial.
Hidden amongst the artwork are many figures isolated in their own way.
Collage pieces were a beginning to which many layers of glazes , acrylic and marks were applied. ‘Scratching through the surface to reveal surprises underneath and covering areas to add interest are two techniques used in this painting.
The muted soft colour palette would make it suitable for a bedroom or living area. It has a warmth and you will find something new each time you look at it.
