Original Abstract Expressionism Painting on Canvas
DRIPS II (2021) BRIDGET BRADLEY
30.5w x 30.5h x 4d cm
Signed and dated on the back.
'DRIPS II', the first of a three original canvases, just released for the first time since its creation during the pandemic in while the artist was stranded overseas.
This abstract was intuitively painted from a place of deep emotion about the devastating bushfires that swept through Australia from late 2019 into 2020.
" I was profoundly moved by the effects on the people, animals and landscape."
As with 'Drips I', vibrant oranges, yellows, hot pinks with neon accents move across the canvas, capturing the energy of burning fire, while watery blue drips symbolize the hope of extinguishing the flames and black marks the aftermath of a charred landscape.
The artwork was created with a multi-layered under painting, impasto and thick drips cascading down the canvas, finished with various mark-making techniques, 'DRIPS II' invites viewers to explore the textural effects. Drips were intentionally extended over some edges, while the canvas is finished in contrasting black.
Using professional acrylic paints, each stroke is hand painted, saturated with intention, capturing the essence of the Artist's feelings.
Colours viewed online may vary depending on your screen display. The painting is typically very vibrant in natural light. In addition, some neon colours may glow under blue light at night.
