Artwork Description

Wind
We call the wind Gobi Gobi. We believe that the winds bring many things into our lives. It can influence the way we feel and even how we act at times. There is a Dreamtime story in my Country about a Clever Man that had power over the wind . One day a special shell was stolen from him and he was so angry that he called to the wind to come from all directions. The wind blew for many days and his people asked him to stop, because they couldn't fish nor hunt in the waters of Quandamooka but his anger was so great he could not. After many days of these wind blowing, it caused Minjerribah to seperate from Moorgumpin.
