‘Ignorance is bliss’ is a well known phrase. A simple truth that’s also deeply complex. Ignorance in general is highly unattractive. Getting called ignorant is an insult. Being ill-informed can be dangerous &
in the Information age we currently live in there’s barely an excuse for it. My angles different. I’m focusing on ignorance to things that don’t matter. Meaningless information that serves no purpose. Information that can have triggering effect (emotionally). Social media. Social media isn’t just a fresh ‘part’ of the culture anymore. It IS the culture. Our emotions are online & they can be played with. I recognised this in myself and it’s why I was inspired to paint this. If you’re ok with not knowing, ignorance is the sweetest bliss.
