Lake Ainsworth at Lennox Head on the NSW north coast is a popular swimming and picnicking spot. It is surrounded by paperbark trees and is famously a freshwater tea tree lake - the closest in the world to the sea. Recently it was proposed that a ski jump practice tower be installed in the lake - fortunately due to 'people power', that was stopped. It is also used by the fire helicopters when there is a bush fire in the adjoining National Park. It is in my mind a place of serenity and hope.
