A Study in Shadows

Light and shadow are an integral part of creating forms in an artwork. Without them, we'd never have the depth conveyed in classic masterpieces, the entire chiaroscuro style or even any photography. In this curation, shadows come to the fore as a major part of an artwork's composition. They are not simply there to complement a form, but add complexity and intrigue to these pieces. Over the next 3 pages, explore further how shadow can alter the way we experience a scene.
