Artist Picks: Belinda Nadwie

The artworks in this curation have been chosen because they either remind me of something, or trigger a memory to siginificant growth areas of my life, they may make my heart beat faster, or force me to stop and breathe or I chose them simply because I deeply admire the talent involved in producing such pieces.
My home is filled with colour and movement, which is a lot like my own art, however I draw inspiration and feel connections when admiring other artists works in my home. Nothing in my home is chosen to go with another piece of furniture or painting, instead I prefer every piece to have it's own story and hold it's own personality.
I hope you enjoy this collection of such talented and diverse Bluethumb fellow artists.

About the Curator

Belinda Nadwie

Bestselling artist Belinda Nadwie creates abstracted landscapes that traverse emotional, psychological and spiritual experience. Working with oil paint, charcoal, spray paint and oil crayons, she captures a spectrum of moods – from quiet, melancholy moments of indigo and teal to rapturous swathes of Persian pink and saffron. Her paintings are reflections of where she is at any one time, with the day, the mood and the inspiration spontaneously coming together in a colourful union. ‘Colour and balance are my passion’ says Nadwie, ‘My expressions are all feeling–based.’
Although the works are non-representational, there are moments in which physical landscapes flicker across the canvas, reminding us of the enduring force of nature. There is a maternal, nurturing modality to the works as Nadwie draws from her experiences of motherhood. Pastels and whites represent innocence, joy and love while also channelling a sense of spirituality, the prominent use of light like transcendental beacons from another world.
