‘Avon Calling’ celebrates the use of texture and colour in an abstract form with subtle beige undertones. Dalin uses both matt and gloss medium gels in this piece to create subtle textures of hand-thrown acrylic which are explicitly noticeable in the light. The name of the artwork alludes to the makeup scene in the Edward Scissors Hand movie because blending really is the secret. The painting ultimately reflects the non-existent use of foundation or makeup during lockdown restrictions, leading to a simpler, more economical way of living.
This artwork is signed on the front for authenticity and comes framed in a natural Tasmanian oak.
