I learnt about Notans on-site in Victoria and this painting was an imaginative piece from my experience in the park. Painted in cold wax which gives depth and mood to the surface of the work in different lightings. Notans are a Japanese exercise in black and white and you need to interpret a design instead of copying what you see. I enjoyed the process very much and it had me painting again.
