Gorgeous Galah by Deb Webb - A colourful, quirky bird based on an Australia Galah.
I love the bird life in Australia, so many varieties and all with their little quirks. This inspires me to paint them in a different way to show off attitude.
I see my paintings as this: If the bird was able to go to a boutique and change it's look a little, what would it do based on it's personality? It's my way of looking at how I paint them.

This Gorgeous Galah is full of pinks, yellows, turquoise and dark grey. She is on a white background so that she pops all on her own. She would look fabulous paired with the Hip Cockatoo I have. Together they would lift and brighten any space.

Six Eucalypt leaves are in an upright position in the centre of the paper. The background is completely matte black. The leaves have shades of orange, ochre, green, blue and pink. They have various marks on them too. An upright branch of Eucalypt leaves, 6 in total. This is negative painting and so the leaves are colourful in greens, oranges, pinks and blues with some dots on them. The background is a solid matte black. A colourful Cockatoo is in the centre of the paper with her head tilted slightly to the right. She is very colourful with blues, yellows and pinks. Behind her is black lined leaves providing contrast to the colour. The galah is placed slightly to the right and has it's head turned facing the left. The colurs used are red, pink, blue and yellow. It is created in an abstract representational way. Thre are leaves drawn in black pen behind it.
