The inspiration for ‘Magnolia’ came from exploring different botanical gardens around Sydney. I also brought branches of magnolia flowers from different florists to use for my paintings and loved having these flowers on display in my home.
The flowers are done on fine delicate paper and gold leaf was also used in the painting. On these papers I have done delicate drawings, painted them in watercolour and then collaged onto the main painting.
This is a small round birch wood board, it comes with a black small metal easel so it can be displayed on a coffee table or it can be hung on the wall.
