My inspiration for this painting came from seeing all the beautiful magnolia trees while driving around Sydney when we lived there. I really wanted to get some inspiration photos and I found some beautiful magnolia trees in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney. Also I use to buy branches of magnolia flowers from the florist when they were in season. Pink Magnolia 2 is painted in acrylic paint and then with thick oil sticks to give texture and vibrant colour. This painting will need to be framed.
