I wanted to create a shady, sun dappled, farm laneway in a (non Australian) rural setting. To make it more interesting I put in the painting, a young boy given the daily task of shifting the cows from one paddock - across the laneway to another destination. I imagined how he would get there, and so included a bike as his form of transport. There is a fair bit of textured effect in the stone wall of the laneway, and the shrubs and weeds growing near and on the wall. It's a bit of a quirky painting, but is very appealing, and makes me smile everytime I walk past it. Maybe your home could do with a little bit of 'rural' on your wall.
