I'm blown away by the parental instincts displayed by Emperor penguins. These incredibly beautiful and social creatures cuddle each other to stay warm, they protect one another and closely share the duties of raising their chicks.
As the youngsters grow, their parents leave them in little groups called ‘crèches‘, whilst they head to the ocean to fish and return in time to give them a feed.
I love how these penguin communities all look after each other, in fact their survival depends on it.
