Anders Zorn was a Swedish impressionism / realism painter (1860-1920). He was best known for " Zorn palette" which is a limited colour palette technique mainly for portrait painting. Using only four colours, he was able to achieve a wide range of colours in his works of variety of subjects. The fascination around what exact colours constitute "Zorn palette" has been around for a very long time. Zorn palette (mainly, white, yellow ochre, vermillion and black) are lacking a primary colour- blue had also been of interest to many art historians.
This artwork is inspired by Zorn's painting titled "in the woods" painted in 1893.
