I started this portrait painting without knowing where it is going to end. I did intend to bring a hummingbird into this portrait simply because I was fascinated by many facts of hummingbirds. They are the smallest birds and are known as “humming” birds because of the sound created by the wings, which flap at human auditable frequencies. The process of completing this painting is also the process of me reflecting on our connections to the nature as humans.
