This is the third painting in my new Water Lily Collection inspired by a walk through my local Botanical Gardens in Brisbane on a sunny, cool, early Winter morning.

The lily pond is a feature of the large Japanese Ornamental Garden there and every time I visit ( which is often) I take in the beauty of their leaves, flowers and formation. They are sun lovers and need six hours of direct sunlight each day to flower. Their flowers close each night, to open again the next day.
On this particular day, the water lilies were in full bloom, creating a real spectacle of pinks and lemon yellow, with the glistening water reflections mirroring the flowers..

They symbolise renewal, optimism and happiness so a lot to love about these ornamental plants that float on the shallow waters, inspiring artworks wherever they grow around the world.

My original, one off artwork here will look beautiful on a wall in your home, and is already professionally framed in Victorian Ash which has had the natural wood rubbed with bees wax to protect.
