To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by my visit to the Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this beautiful, large native shrub in full bloom in the flowering season. I love every detail of it, from the terminal racemes of small flowers in bright yellow that shine beautifully under the sun, to the long, narrow pine-like leaves.

Persoonia pinifolia, a species of the Proteaceae family, is an attractive large shrub with large spikes of bright, vivid yellow flowers and pine-like foliage, native to New South Wales, Australia.
Pine-leaved Geebung normally flowering from mid-summer to autumn, it grows into a dense shrub that birds can take refuge in. Persoonia pinifolia loves well-drained acid soil, prefers a sunny position or one with partial shade, and tolerates reasonably heavy frosts.
This is a rare sight to see as it can be difficult to propagate somehow. This is why it was a nice surprise that I encountered the Pine-leaved Geebung in its flowering season during my visit to the garden.

Affirmation – Do your best, all your perseverance and effort will turn into a fruitful harvest.

Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers.
May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine.

Affirmation: Hope is the light, let there be light.
<br>
To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by a day trip to Sassafras, Victoria. This beautiful Scarlet Banksia lay on top of a bunch of wattle caught my attention.
<br>
Banksia coccinea, native to Western Australia, also known as the scarlet banksia, waratah banksia or Albany banksia, is an erect shrub or small tree in the family Proteaceae. Banksia coccinea plants are killed by bushfire and regenerate from seed.
Banksia symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. To move on from the past courageously, to have the strength to look forward to tomorrow.
Wattle flower – the symbol of life, renewal and potential. The green and gold are the national colours of Australia, first used in 1899.
<br>
All the native blossoms bloom gloriously like a warming sun. Therefore, I have the title - Outshine the Light, for this particular artwork.
<br>
Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine.

I present you a latest piece in my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like flowers.
<br>
Affirmation:
A life time may be short, but it may also be long enough for us to make it the greatest journey.
When the world turns upside down, cherish the people who love you, most important of all, remember to give yourself a life time love.
<br>
This project is actually planned for quite sometimes.
I started this artwork around March, since then, a lot of things happened and the world seems changed completely. On the other hand, we have more time to be with ourselves, to think and to realise what is really important to us.
This artwork somehow kept me grounded all this time and I happy to say I finally have it completed at the end of September.
<br>
It’s been a really long journey, sunny days and rainy days. Long working hours required determination and faith to achieved.
I spent almost every day studying those intricate composition and fine details. If you look close enough, each tiny petal was built up by more than 10 layers. The process wasn’t an easy task but It’s a challenge that I enjoyed, and I am proud of myself for not giving up.
<br>
There’s also another reason that I’ve never mentioned why I started this series in the first place. Which I did revealed during an artist interview on August 2020.
Years ago, I was ill.
The mother nature, my paint brushes and canvases were the things that helped me back to my feet. Since then I have decided - if I have the time/ life that I thought I nearly lost, I want to make good use of it to create something beautiful, to do something only I can do and to pass the positive messages and healing power to people, that intension never changed.
Life goes on and I think we all agree that 2020 is a very different year.
By the time I have this artwork completed, I decided to name this artwork - A Life Time Love, which is also an extension from my previous artwork – A Life Time Journey, A Life time blessing, and Have Faith in A Sunny Place.
Because the world might change in all of a sudden, but love keep us grounded.
This is also a reminder to myself- always take care and love yourself first, that’s what makes you stronger.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this artwork from my signature series - A LIFE TIME LOVE.
<br>
Spiritual meaning of the flowers-
Dianthus - flower of the Gods. Green Ball Dianthus, also known as Green Trick Dianthus are a unique flower with a fuzzy ball-shaped bloom.
The name comes from the Greek words “dios," meaning heavenly and “anthos," meaning flower.
Dianthus is one of the oldest cultivated flower varieties. Greeks and Romans used the flowers for decor, and garlands. Till now, Dianthus is still very popular and often used in floral arrangement.
<br>
Chrysanthemums symbolize deep passion and optimism.
Red roses stand for true love and romance
The flower of bird of paradise symbolize joyfulness and faithfulness.
Leucadendron, native to Australia, are often used to convey an appreciation for simplicity in life.
Simple beauty is one of the most popular meanings for this bloom.
<br>
This artwork is inspired by an amazing floral arrangement that I spotted in Donvale, Melbourne, Victoria, 2020 – A unforgettable year.
Also based on my own photos.
<br>
-Bloom like flowers -
In this signature series of mine, flowers as the object represent life itself to me.
Our own will to be alive, and the way we want to be alive.
While I carefully paint these tiny flower petals, or built up those fine leaves’ vines, it is like the way we try to figure out those uncertainty, furthermore, to be able to be closer to the truth a little bit more.

Affirmation: The reality is now, let’s play to win.

This artwork was inspired by my visit to Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this particular Eucalyptus macrocarpa tree in full bloom in the flowering season. I love the details on those large ovate grey leaves and the earthy tone on the plant.
The rough surface on the gum nuts and the smooth silky texture on the flowers, display of greatest strength of life.

I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like flowers.
Eucalyptus Macrocarpa (Mottlecah), a sprawling mallee endemic to Western Australia. Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection.

Affirmation: While there are a thousand ways to say I love you, my strongest love language is always acts of service.
<br>
To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season.
This is my depiction of the gorgeous bouquet that was gifted to me by my family and family members overseas as a surprise, during the opening night of my solo exhibition - Bloom Like Flowers, presented by Maroondah City Council at Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery. (Melbourne, Australia) Even the galley curators kept a secret till I saw a large, breathtakingly beautiful bouquet with the crowd during the opening.
<br>
I was overwhelmed by a surge of various emotions. Words could not describe how happy and grateful I am for all the love and support I received. Sometimes the strongest love may be left unsaid but presents itself loudest in action.
Therefore, I chose to express it in the best way I could think of - with my paint brushes and canvas.
<br>
All the native blossoms bloom gloriously. A precious memory that I will cherish forever. Therefore, I have the title - A Thousand Ways to Love, to say I love you, for this particular artwork.
<br>
I started this artwork around Dec 2022. It’s been a long journey, sunny days and rainy days. To depict the different textures of those special native flowers correctly, somedays I even had to start all over if I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome the day before. Some of the tepals are velvety, some are furry, and some have woody, rough surfaces or relatively firm textures.
The process wasn’t an easy task but It’s a challenge that I always enjoyed. The flowers I painted during day sometimes appear in my dreams. After 12 months of production time, I finally had it completed on Dec 2023.
Here I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like Flowers.
<br>
BANKSIA prionotes, a species of shrub or tree of the genus Banksia in the family Proteaceae, also known as Acorn Banksia or Orange Banksia. In the Language of Flowers, Banksia symbolizes rebirth, regeneration and new beginnings.
<br>
Amaranthus, with tiny flowers blooming in cascading clusters creating a weeping effect, is considered a symbol of immortality due to its longevity.
The name Amaranthus came from the Greek “amarantos”, meaning “unfading”, which also describes the vivid colours of the flowers that can last for weeks while on the plant.
<br>
Dracula Celosia, formerly Celosia cristata, also known as cockscomb, is the crested variety of the species Celosia argentea.
The unusual shape and richly-hued blooms of the flower is not the only reason why it stands out, it’s also believed that celosia is a good omen.
Celosia is a symbol of boldness. If you want to wish someone courage, gifting Celosia to the person you care about will send the right message. Celosia flowers also stand for affection, love, individuality, partnership, resilience, and strength.
<br>
Yellow Paper Daisy, also known as Sticky Everlasting, Shiny Everlasting, or Golden Everlasting.
Yellow Daisy stands for youthful beauty and gentleness. Some people look at the daisy to be a symbol of good luck. However, the most popular meanings attached to the daisy are - loyal love, innocence, and purity.
As for my all-time favourite - Eucalyptus flowers and gum nuts stand for Healing and Protection.
<br>
Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine.
