On one family boating holiday, it rained the entire time.

It became so relentless—an almost maddening drumming on the cabin roof and decks—that I needed to find some sort of relief. I took the boat under the shelter of a freeway bridge that spanned the river and hastily dropped anchor, only to find that it was actually worse. Highway gutters and drains poured down on us from long hills, gushing into windows, door vents and any points of weakness the water could find. And a nice slippery anchor to wrestle back in.

In the end, we just resigned ourselves to accepting that the weather (and the painting subjects) were a given that we just had to make the best of.

I've tried to turn lemons into some lemonade in this piece.

I am selling limited edition (1 of 100) giclee prints of this painting on 200gsm fine art paper. The dimensions are 51cm by 40cm.
