Leaves - A subject I love to paint! This unique little original artwork was part of the Tacit gallery 'Exquisite Palette' show June 2018. Referencing the title of my first solo exhibtion, also at Tacit gallery, Collingwood, Melbourne. I love to showcase natural themes by exaggerating their colour and textures.
I find gumleaves incredible beautiful and precious. Little gems to be found. I'm inspired by their colours, unique shapes, and imperfections. The worn, nibbled and textured edges on them only improve with age! Yet they largely go unnoticed fallen underfoot.
I try to capture subtle nuances of tone and light to describe the form and colour within my paintings, by using generous, confident marks and adequate volume of paint. Sometimes in layers or with more immediate strokes.
A perfect gift for someone. Lightweight and easy to post and pairs beautifully with
There is no wire hanger but it is so lightweight a 'Command' hook would be perfect. Alternatively I recommend buying a mini display easel (which is not included) but readily available in discount stores or childrens/student art stores.
