Impressionist oil painting of Mosman Bay Ferry and Sydney skyline on stretched canvas 51cm x 40.5 cm.
Sydney Ferries date back to the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1789. The first ferry service ran from the Cove to the farming settlement of Parramatta. It was named the Rose Hill Packet, built by convicts and powered by sails and oars. In 1861 the North Shore Ferry Company was started. Popular Sydney ferries are Taronga Zoo, Manly, Darling Harbour, Neutral Bay and Mosman. Mosman Bay Ferry departs from Sydney, Circular Quay, No. 2 Wharf and takes about 20 minutes. Mosman is 8km north east of Sydney CBD.
