Puja In The Himalayas represents the amazing work done by Sherpa and their teams of high altitude workers. Tibet's Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world, at 8201m straddling the border of Tibet and Nepal and within sight of the mighty Everest. Prior to any mountaineering summit push, the Puja Ceremony blesses climbers and their equipment. The Puja Ceremony culminates with Tibetan Tsampa flour spread across the faces of all climbers as a final blessing. In this artwork, I have captured the last moments of the Puja ceremony as Pasang Sherpa is sprinkled with Tsampa flour and he then went on to successfully guide me to the summit.
